"You shall worship the Lord your God, and God only shall you serve."
(Luke 4:8)
Our common life centers around praising God, because worship and
prayer are central to our purpose and mission as Christians. Our worship blends
traditional Presbyterian elements with exciting events planned by the Worship Committee
including, conversational sermons, dramatic readings, communal prayer, healing services and special music.
We proclaim the gospel through word and music, and receive God’s grace
through the sacraments of Baptism and The Lord's Supper.
OUR SUNDAY MORNING SCHEDULE…
…starts with Bible Study at 10am in the Miriam Pukalo Lounge. Worship for all ages begins at 11am in the sanctuary, with children leaving for Sunday school after the "Time with Young Disciples". We have a space at the back of the sanctuary for toddlers to keep busy and parents to be in worship. Worship is followed by a fellowship lunch from 12:15PM to 1:15 PM in the Miriam Pukalo Lounge.
MUSIC
The music program at RPPC consists of an adult choir, special soloists and instumentalists led by Mary Clare Cadieux, Music Director. Sharing our musical talents has been a tradition of RPPC for many years. The adult choir sings music from "Ambrosius to Zulu", incorporating the rich diversity of traditions that our congregation represents.
The choir welcomes new voices and invites all who are interested to attend rehearsals on Tuesday evenings at 7PM and Sunday mornings at 10AM.
Talented soloists, both instrumental and vocal, augment many of the services. If you are interested in the music program, please email or call the church at (773) 262-3667.
COMMUNION FOR LUNCH…
We also offer a mid-week communion service in our sanctuary the first Wednesday of each month, starting in March, 2012.
Our worship is traditional in structure, informal in style, and reformed theologically. Our worship is centered around the proclamation of the God's word, and includes singing, prayer, and sharing. Our congregation is diverse culturally, theologically, economically, and in abilities. Accessiblity is limited but if you let us know your need ahead of time by calling the church office, 773-262-3667, we will do our best to include you in the activities of our faith community.
